SWAT team finds suspected gunman and 2 others dead after RV park standoff
DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Authorities say three people are dead and two critically injured after a hostage standoff at a quiet Florida recreational vehicle park.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said a gunman shot and killed one man outside and then barricaded himself inside a recreational vehicle with hostages late Thursday.
After a seven-hour standoff, a SWAT team entered the vehicle early Friday.
They found the adult male suspect and a nine-year-old boy dead.
A woman and a seven-year-old boy were badly injured. A woman who escaped the RV told detectives the hostages were the gunman's wife and two children.
Neighbours told WSVN-TV the mobile home park in Deerfield Beach, north of Fort Lauderdale, was filled with tourists from Canada.
Officials did not immediately identify suspect and victims.
